Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are search engines my only choice for online advertising?
No, there are other types of sites that accept local merchant listings and ads. Cornerstone routinely publishes its clients in online yellow pages, blog sites & blog directories, and quite a few other types of local directories.
How can I integrate online advertising into my overall advertise budget and plan?
While there is a cost applied to nearly every form of advertising, including online advertising, few forms of advertising offer the level of accountability that online advertising offers. With most forms of advertising you judge potential impact based on exposure potential. By going online you can track the performance of your campaign to give justification for expanding your budget and strategy.
What are the important components in getting my business promoted online?
Online advertising, and more specifically, search engine marketing, is not a 1-2 day “try it and see if it works” type of medium. Much of the response you may receive is dependant on where your business listing appears in the search engine result sets. There are many parameters that search engines use to determine the rank order of the results they display on their sites. The amount of time you’ve been visible to the search engines and the number of times they have ‘indexed’ (visited your site and remembered what is there) your site are very important elements. Both rely on, at least in part, the amount of time you’ve been available to the search engines. Thus, much of the effort of search engine marketing firms (like CornerstoneLocal) is directed to getting information about your business and your website distributed frequently to as many search engines, directories, and other relevant sites as possible.
Who is CornerstoneLocal, and how long have you been in business?
CornerstoneLocal is a search engine marketing company that works with hundreds of small- and medium-sized businesses across the country. We are an Authorized Reseller for Yahoo! Local, Local.com and other recognizable brand on the Internet and have several locations throughout the country. We’ve recently changed our name from Cornerstone Marketing Services to Cornerstone Local Marketing to emphasize our expertise on localized online marketing.
Our sister company still uses the “old name” that is well-established in their industry where they generate leads and create demand for leading technology brands such as Oracle, EMC and Microsoft.
Together, we’ve been in business since June 2003, although our management team is comprised of seasoned industry veterans in both the online search & directory space and the high-tech demand creation arena.
